Developed by Opinel to make it easier to cut and prepare mushrooms. This tool features a thin, curved blade with a serrated back, for easy removal of unwanted mushroom parts. Its durable oak handle incorporates a real boar hair brush, for easy removal of soil. The handle has a hole, prepared for a small strap. This knife comes in a wooden box, which beautifully presents the knife and leather sheath through a plexiglass lid.
Blade length: 7.6 cm
Knife length unfolded: 18.3 cm
Sandvik stainless steel
Opinel uses Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It requires no special maintenance and its 0.4% carbon content gives it a sharp edge.
Handle
The handle is made of oak. It feels comfortable in the hand and has a nice polish.
Safety ring
The Virobloc safety ring was invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955 and is found on all folding knives from size N'06 and up. Virobloc is cut from stainless steel and has 2 parts; one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade in the open position, it can now also be locked in the closed position (safety during transport).
The estate owner saw Opinel knives for the first time at an exhibition in Paris, and has since seen them worldwide in stores that carry quality gear for discerning customers. The knives are often beautifully displayed and presented as something very special, because they exude classic design, many years of cultural heritage and craftsmanship. These are values that are highly valued in these hectic times.
