On our recent study trip to France, we visited Bordeaux for the first time, without any great expectations.
We are used to France's somewhat rustic charm, and it came as a great surprise to the squire when, after a very short time in the city center, the baroness exclaimed, "That's the most beautiful city I have ever seen!!"
"Just look at all the houses. They are all the same color! Even the street signs are beautiful and color-coordinated!"
The squire looked around at the buildings and had to admit once again that the baroness truly is an aesthete.
After a visit to an Aigle store, the baroness once again pointed at the street signs and said they were the same color as the Aigle children's wellington boots we had just looked at.
When we passed an old-fashioned carousel, the lady pointed out that even it was color-coordinated, and here she expressed her heartfelt wish to buy the entire city center and take it home.
However, after talking to the bank advisor back home, she came to her senses, and we could continue our journey.
