The new Danish clothing brand OLENE proudly presents a turtleneck sweater that even the most discerning wool-skeptic will embrace as if it were the holy grail suddenly materialized. Knitted in Scotland on Japanese knitting machines and washed in soft water, extracted from the low-lime hinterland behind the production. We've been there ourselves, so we know it's not just empty talk! This beautiful turtleneck sweater pairs perfectly with OLENE’s new Beauly tweed shacket.

It is made from 2-ply yarn, which means it's on the thinner end of the knit scale, fulfilling our own dream: to wear it under a tweed blazer. The wool is the finest Geelong SuperFine lambswool from New Zealand, which can probably be described as merino wool's luxurious and durable cousin. The yarn has a slightly shorter fiber length and a small diameter, contributing to the sweater's incredible softness. To make it even softer, we asked the knitting manufacturer to perform an "underwash," meaning the yarn has been centrifuged a little less but tumble-dried a little more than standard.
The turtleneck itself is made extra high, a bit in 70s style, which looks fantastic. All seams are made in the classic way, adding a design edge.
REVEAL: The lord of the manor himself has worn samples of these sweaters, WITHOUT anything underneath, to ensure they are truly as soft as we want them to be. No shirt, no t-shirt, nothing! Sorry for these intimate details, but it's important for us that you understand how wonderfully soft this knit is, without any cashmere wool involved.
The sweater is PRINCIPALLY designed for men, indicated in men's sizes, but has already been "scored" by several women in our circle. That's how it is with quality; it has no preferences, age, or prejudice.
We are incredibly happy with this sweater, which in terms of style and product quality will last for many years. We believe this is sustainable and simply makes so much sense to us.
