Many customers have over the years asked for a high-shafted hunting and hiking boot, and finally we have one in our assortment. They are also an excellent alternative if you are not into rubber boots, due to their waterproofness and high shaft. In England, you often see gentlemen in tweed, with knickerbockers and long socks, wearing this type of boot.
Aonach Field Boots are fully waterproof hunting boots featuring an H-Tex membrane that provides excellent protection and breathability. The upper is constructed from the finest Anfibio leather and protected by a rubber rand in high-wear areas. A Vibram Icetrek sole provides excellent grip on hard terrain, in all temperatures. This is a truly durable boot. It even has a memory foam insole on top of the shock-absorbing midsole to provide extra comfort all day long.
Despite the fact that there can be warm days in the field, the boots do not get too hot to wear. They have a built-in "climate system" where the lining allows your feet to breathe, air to circulate, and warm, moist air to escape at the top of the boot.
There are rubber reinforcements along the boot edge, which protect and extend the life of the leather if it were to be exposed to sharp rocks and stones.
The boot is easy to get to fit well, as you can initially lace the lower part of the boot over the foot, and then lock the laces in the first hook at the ankle. After that, the rest of the boot is laced easily and quickly. Once the boot is laced properly, you can really feel that it is designed to prevent sprains on uneven terrain. There is good support around the ankle in particular, and it is not possible to twist the ankle very much to the sides.
